[/Update]
Candidates for the PC nomination Calgary Egmont are emerging gradually.
So far, officially declared candidates for the nomination:
- Vicki Engel
As I've written back here, I suspect that Ms. Engels is a little too closely associated with Chandler's now defunct nomination. - Don Middleton
Don is a new name to me, and his website is a trifle sparse at the moment. I believe his claims to having been neutral in the most recent nomination squabble in Egmont, and look forward to seeing what he brings to the table
There are rumors that Jonathan Denis may run again as well, although I cannot find anything to corroborate a few side comments I've heard, so I'll sit back and wait on that topic.

Odd you keep picking on Vicki.
Many people helped Craig from PGIB, but many PGIB members are still in the Tory party and are not leaving it just because Craig has.
We are proud members of the PC party.
From what I know both Jonathan Denis and Vicki Engel are PGIB members.
A proud PC member and PGIB member.
I've already stated what my concerns about Mrs. Engel's candidacy are.
So far nothing has come forward to change my opinion or my suspicions - continuing to flag my concerns is not "picking on" anyone.
Chandlerite Sid Helischauer posted on projectalberta.com last week that Jonathan Denis was a PGIB member until his membership expired 7 months ago. I have no proof either way, but this would seem logical. From his website it looks like Denis is in for the race anyways.
Interesting that Denis and Middleton both have their photos but Vicki's is nowhere to be found on her website.
Ding! Denis is running on round 2.

Clearly both of these candidates are either closely associated with Chandler or are a clone of him. Kiss the riding goodbye, Tories. I'm voting for Kathie Williams.

An interesting observation, but based on what I've seen so far, I'm not so much convinced that the conclusion you have drawn makes sense.
Don has been quite emphatic in distinguishing his position from that of Chandler and Chandler's affiliates - both on this blog and others.
Regardless, the squabbles over the Egmont nomination may drive quite a number of voters away from the PC's.
As I have pointed out previously, I am not affiliated with ANYONE who ran in the previous nomination process. I was the Assistant Returning Officer and was completely neutral. It was actually very frustrating to not run as a candidate, but the nomination fell in the middle of the high school football season and I am the head coach of the Lord Beaverbrook senior football team. I would not have had the opportunity to put 100% of my energy into the campaign and I do not believe in anything less.
I have had discussions with the other candidates, and have had positive responses from their campaigns as well. This does not make me a “plant”. It simply shows my capability to work with people who may have diverse viewpoints.
I am exactly as I present on my website. I do not have clandestine motives, nor am I getting involved for any reason other than to listen to the concerns of the constituents of Calgary Egmont and be their representative in the Legislature.
I certainly hope that people who believe in the PC party will get involved in this nomination process and choose the candidate they can trust and who will best represent their issues in the upcoming provincial election.
