Shorter WingNuts: There's queer in every closet!

Over here we learn that Concerned Women For America is all worried about a "quiz/survey" on the Barbie website.

Apparently, they think that a drop-down list which gives the child the options of "girl", "boy" or "don't know" is going to spontaneously cause children to turn into transgender kids.

The probable - and rational explanation - is that whoever built the webpage in question cut-and-pasted the dropdown list from another piece of work, and simply changed the bits they cared about. Okay - at worst it's a harmless "oops". Will it irreparably harm anyone? No.

When the religious reich gets it through their collective thick skulls that there is no mass conspiracy among the LGBT to "recruit" people, they might just start to realize that humanity is incredibly diverse - and just maybe they will start to consider the notion that their God put a wide variety of people on the world for a reason or two. (and it isn't to provide them with a moral punching bag)

BTW - I find it mildly ironic that 'Concerned Women For America's Director of CWA’s Culture & Family Institute is an amazingly masculine fella named "Bob Knight"...makes one wonder, doesn't it?

Hello? Where is their sense of ha-ha? Do they really take themselves seriously?

It's worthwhile listening to their diatribe that Grog links to - In a nutshell, Barbie's website is not child safe because they believe that only children up to the age of 8 take their poll, and these children are being deliberately confused and lead down an evil path by Mattel owned Barbie and "Girl's Inc" - an organization that promotes abortion and lesbianism to young girls (yup, that's what "concerned women" believe).

Apprently, this is part of an evil agenda to subvert our young into homosexualism (run away screaming, and cover your ears). They tie it right into a Transgender conference that young girls could attend in Washington a few years ago, where Surgeons were telling these young girls that they could come back and get their breasts cut off... what this has to do with a fun poll on a Barbie website that pokes fun at the idea of questions, I have no idea... Hysteria anyone?

The sad part? Was just looking at the "evil Barbie site" and the poll in question - it has changed. They have done nothing wrong, yet have bowed to pressure from religious wing-nuts in an attempt to not offend. Now, instead of only asking up to age 8, it provides options up to age 70+, and so as not to subvert young impressionable girls into a life of debauchery and sin, they now ask "girl/boy/rather not say", after all, if a young girl read "don't know" as a choice in gender, she would be scarred for life...

It really frustrates me that these "Christian" groups have nothing better to do than to subvert the meaning and twist the innocuous into something evil. Now, I know a few girls in the "barbie" age range, and if they read this type of question, they would laugh, and think it was rather clever of Barbie to ask... after all, they're GIRLS...

Oh, wait BREAKING NEWS FLASH... Barbie's website also allows the option of "boy". Ewww! Girl cooties. If a boy went to the barbie website, he would immediately turn queer because it is pink and is for girls... There we have it, boys, girls and those who would rather not say... the evils of the world can be heaped at the feet of Mattel for their subversive ways in using Barbie as part of an evil plot to turn all girls lesbian, boys gay, and send little girls to surgeons to chop off the breasts that they don't have yet...

Acht!

Alberta's Anti-Trans Legislation

So, now that the UCP has rolled out their anti-trans legislation, we can take a long look at it.  Yesterday, they tabled 3 related bills and...
