Naomi Lakritz summarizes the very reasons I don't especially like PMSH.
Fundamentally, it boils down to trustworthiness, and the HarperCons just aren't trustworthy.
A progressive voice shining light into the darkness of regressive politics. Pretty much anything will be fair game, and little will be held sacred.

the "hidden agenda" again. Two years running the government, and it's still hidden. Maybe if he gets a majority he'll reveal it.

I don't think it's hidden at all. Unstated perhaps, but not hidden. Actions speak as loud, or louder than words.
Obviously I've missed a few things. I'll have to try and stay in touch more on some of the issues.
In regards to the media, the only ones he's been keeping at a distance are the ones who ask embarrassing questions or point out the horrific flaws in 'his' agenda. Mass media that is close to the PMO is inclined to buy and sell the party line.
Unfortunately, unless the Canadian public wakes up odds are Harper will play the FUD card in the next election and succeed by default. Dion is not what I would call a 'charismatic' leader, but I'm not interested in someone charming to lead me over the cliff edge. I want someone who will point out the problem, offer solutions and the resources to deal with them.
People seem to be looking for a 'father' figure who will pat them on the head and tell them 'everything is okay, just do as you're told and we'll deal with it'; the last time we did that, we got Trudeau, Chretien, & Mulroney.
