Sure enough, the US Navy has gone quite some ways down the path.
I have to wonder if the developers are thinking in terms of Asimov's 3 Laws of Robotics when they are developing the software systems behind these devices?

Well, not to worry, it's not a true robot, not yet anyways. I'm more worried about the unseen operator(s) at the control stick. Who knows, maybe they'll be hopped up on 'speed' like their fighter pilots and equally trigger happy...not a pleasant thought.
